The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) is circulating a document (“Memorandum”) from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (“OECA”) addressing the following subject:
CDX log in transition to Login.gov Reminder.
OECA is addressing the reminder Memorandum to NeT and NetDMR Users.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to alert the addressees that on August 2nd EPA’s Central Data Exchange (“CDX”) log in process is transitioning to using Login.gov for all user verification, including for the NPDES eReporting Tool (NeT) and Network Discharge Monitoring Report (NetDMR).
The stated purpose of the change includes:
- Part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and streamline access to EPA’s services.
- Aligns with OMB Memo M-22-09 “Moving the U.S. Government Toward Zero Trust Cybersecurity Principles”.
- Provides best practices for defense against sophisticated phishing attacks.
The Memorandum addresses information such as:
- New log in process.
- Action that is required starting August 2nd.
- Benefits.
