The Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality (“MCEQ”) and Shuqualak Lumber Company, Inc., Planer Mill Division (“SLC”) entered into a December 4th Agreed Order (“AO”) addressing alleged violations of an air permit and Mississippi air regulations. See Order No. 6818 17.
The AO provides that SLC operates a facility in Shuqualak, Mississippi. The facility holds a Title V Permit No. 2000-00013.
The AO alleges certain violations which include:
- Late submittal of the Title V renewal application (referencing Condition 1.16)
- Operating without a permit (referencing expiration of the Title V operating permit which precluded the right to operate air emissions equipment)
The AO provides that MCEQ and SLC agree to settle the matter under the following condition:
Respondent shall comply with the terms and conditions of the Title V Permit No. 2000-00013, which was issued March 7, 2012, and expired on February 28, 2017, until the Mississippi Environmental Quality Permit Board or its designee acts on the renewal application for Respondent’s Permit.
