The Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) issued a January 24th news release referencing two electrical vehicle charging stations funding programs.
The programs will be initiated on February 1st.
First, DEQ states it is continuing its Level 2 electric vehicle supply equipment program. The program was initially begun in 2021 and provided rebates for the installation of Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations. These types of charging stations are described as being capable of fully charging electric vehicles in eight hours or less using a 240-volt output.
Approximately $215,000 in rebate funds are stated to be available to government, private, and non-profit entities in 2022 on:
. . . a first-come, first-serve basis.
DEQ is also continuing its funding program for 150-kilowatt DC Fast Charge stations. These charging stations are described as being capable of charging electric vehicles in as little as 30 minutes.
DEQ states that applications for the DC Fast Charge Program will be accepted through April 30th.
Both programs will be explained in a free webinar to be conducted via Zoom at 1:00 PM on January 28th.
Funding for the previously referenced programs has been obtained from the Volkswagen settlement which awarded the State of Arkansas $14.6 million.
The news release, which provides information regarding the programs and how to sign up for the webinar, can be found here.
