The New Hampshire Legislature is considering legislation that would study the impacts of electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and e-mobility devices on the following:
- First Responder Response
- Environment
- Building Fire Codes
- Life, Safety, and Property Protection
The legislation is denominated SB430.
The legislation would establish a Council to undertake a study of these issues.
The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office indicated support for the bill because of:
- Increasing fire safety concerns regarding electric vehicles and batteries
- Research at the national level is ongoing and a council or group would facilitate bringing state agencies together with the outside groups
A copy of SB430 can be downloaded here.
