Stuart Spencer of the Mitchell Williams Law Firm’s Little Rock, Arkansas office will be presenting a free one-hour Environmental Insights webinar on the United States Environmental Protection Agency Affordable Clean Energy Rule (“ACE”).
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, January 29th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CST).
Stuart’s discussion of the ACE rule will include:
- Primary components
- Update on federal litigation challenging the rule
- Legal arguments addressed in the litigation
- Overview of Arkansas ACE planning efforts
The webinar will also address:
- Does the ACE rule explicitly address climate change?
- How will the ACE rule achieve reductions in carbon dioxide emissions?
- Will the rule influence the U.S. energy fleet make-up?
- Is there an expected electricity rate impact?
- Is EPA telegraphing a broader strategy of “locking in” regulatory schemes via its ACE rule litigation defense?
- Will the ACE rule trigger New Source Review permitting requirements?
Registration to participate in the webinar is required. Further, space is limited.
The webinar is approved for one (1) hour of general Continuing Legal Education credit by the Arkansas Continuing Legal Education Board.
Stuart is a member of Mitchell Williams law firm’s Environmental Practice Group. He is a former Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, Division of Environmental Quality Associate Director. He was the head of Office of Air Quality as its Chief for several years. Stuart is immediate Past President of the Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies.
