The United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service (“NRCS”) scheduled a webinar for October 25th titled:
Expansion of Climate-Smart Agriculture and Forestry Mitigation Activities and other FY24 Conservation Opportunities (“Webinar”)
The Webinar will be held at 2:00 p.m. eastern time.
The Webinar will address what NRCS describes as:
. . . the newly expanded list of Climate-Smart Agriculture and Forestry Mitigation Activities available for Inflation Reduction Act funding through conservation programs offered by USDA. . .
There will be an additional discussion addressing:
- Inflation Reduction Act and Farm Bill assistance
- Efforts to streamline and improve programs for fiscal year 2024
The Inflation Reduction Act is scheduled to provide an additional $19.5 billion from 2023 to 2027 to support climate change mitigation practices through the United States Department of Agriculture’s conservation programs.
Examples of such programs include:
- Agricultural Conservation Easement Program
- Conservation Stewardship Program
- Conservation Reserve Program
- Environmental Quality Incentives Program
- Conservation Innovation Grants
- Regional Conservation Partnership Program
- Climate-Smart Agricultural and Nutrient Management
