The American Council for Energy-Efficient Economy (“ACEEE”) announced the issuance of a White Paper titled:
Indicators for Local Energy Resilience (“Paper”)
ACEEE describes the Paper as addressing the interconnection of community resilience in various aspects of energy supply and consumption (i.e., referenced as “local energy resilience”).
The Paper discusses nine dimensions of local energy resilience which include:
- Energy Infrastructure and Reliability
- Transportation Connectivity
- Distributed Generation
- Thermal Building Performance
- Urban Heat Island Effect
- Climate Change
- Particulate Matter Pollution
- Energy Burden
- Energy Bill Stability
The Paper provides indicators for each dimension with the goal of providing policymakers and interested stakeholders the ability to gage community progress towards resilience.
