The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (“NARUC”) issued a January 30th news release stating that Arkansas Public Utility Commissioner Katie Anderson will join the Board of Directors.
Ms. Anderson is stated to be filling the expired term of Puerto Rico Energy Board Commissioner Lillian Mateo-Santos.
NARUC describes itself as a non-profit organization whose members include the governmental agencies that are engaged in the regulation of utilities and carriers in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Member agencies are stated to regulate telecommunications, energy, and water utilities.
Ms. Anderson has also served as a member of NARUC’s Committee on Energy Resources and the Environment. Other service includes:
- Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Organization of MISO States.
- Director for the Entergy Regional State Committee.
- Advisory council member of New Mexico State University Center for Public Utilities.
Her educational background includes:
- B.A. in political science from the University of Arkansas.
- J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
