Four workshops have been scheduled in Northwest Arkansas titled:
Native Plants, Green Roofs, & LID (“Workshop”)
The objective of the Workshop is to provide homeowners information about how they can protect local waterways by implementing low impact development (“LID”) techniques on their properties.
The instructors will include:
- Jane Maginot, Water Quality Agent for Washington County
- Lee Porter – Ozark Green Roofs
- Eric Fuselier – Arkansas Native Plant Society
The instructors will address the various methods and techniques that can be used to “slow down, spread out, and soak in stormwater on-site.” The purpose is to create a more environmentally friendly place for wildlife while improving soil and protecting water quality.
The instructors will also address:
- Green roofs
- Rain gardens
- Phytoremediation
The workshops will be held at the following locations on the dates listed:
Saturday, March 7th – Springdale Public Library – 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Wednesday, April 29th – Bentonville Public Library – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Tuesday, June 9th – OMNI Center for Peace, Justice & Ecology – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Saturday, June 13th – Fayetteville Public Library – 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
