The Beaver Watershed Alliance and Illinois River Watershed Partnership (collectively “IRWP”)are undertaking an event titled:
Northwest Arkansas Stormwater Discussion 2022/Field Tour (“Event”)
IRWP states that the goal of the Event is to:
- Advance the conversation on policy/planning by gaining multiple perspectives on integrating stormwater practices/supporting policies
- Arm cities, counties, and developers with tools and ideas on working together to tackle regional stormwater challenges
- Address financing ideas and opportunities available to fund low-impact development of green infrastructure projects
Presentations will include:
- Denny McPhate, Deputy Director, City of Hot Springs (15 years of experience implementing the City’s stormwater utility activities)
- Urban Land Institute, Panel Discussion which will include representatives from:
- Runway Group
- Rausch Coleman
- Crafton Tull
- Three different financing professionals (including presentation of a Tableau financing webtool developed for cities, counties, and utilities)
The afternoon session will include a look at a low impact development being implemented by Blue Ribbon and EDG alongside Beaver Watershed Alliance and the City of Rogers.
IRWP states that attendees might include:
- Developers
- Real estate professionals
- City and county elected officials
- Anyone in planning, engineering, and related disciplines
The Event will be capped at 75 participants and prioritization will be given for those in the referenced professional fields.
The Event will be held at 221 South Main Street, Cave Springs, AR, 72718, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
