The Illinois River Watershed Partnership (“IRWP”) announced what it describes as an Online Learning Center.
IRWP states that for the next four weeks it will:
. . . be presenting the most pressing topics to our local water quality in Northwest Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.
The IRWP indicates that the intent is to continue to provide education opportunities despite the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The topics to be initially addressed include:
- Land Conservation
- Why do we conserve land?
- How can I conserve my land?
- Resources introducing concepts behind land conservation
- Riparian Buffers
- Front line defense against pollution
- Overview of riparian buffers and stream function
- Overview of buffers
- Recommended Best Management Practices for improving and maintaining a riparian buffer
