The American Forest & Paper Association (“AF&PA”) announced its advocacy priorities for 2021.
The advocacy priorities are described as those the Association is pursuing to:
. . . ensure the pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and wood products industry’s continued growth and ability to create American manufacturing jobs.
AF&PA President/Chief Executive Officer Heidi Brock is quoted in a February 11th news release as stating:
. . . Our members are committed to environmental stewardship across the value chain – from the raw, renewable wood fiber that is harvested to the energy and water used in the manufacturing process to the recovery of paper and paper-based packaging that is used to make new products.
The Association’s 2021 advocacy priorities are listed as:
- COVID-19: An Essential Industry Working Safely During Pandemic Response
- Achieving Sustainability
- Sustainable Manufacturing Advancing the Circular Economy
- Continued Success for Paper Recycling
- Keeping Forests as Forests.
- Transportation Infrastructure
AF&PA describes itself as the national trade association of the paper and wood products industry and advances public policies that promote a strong and sustainable U.S. forest products industry in the global marketplace.
