Senate Bill 253 was introduced which addresses the appointment of the Board of Directors of a Regional Water Distribution District.
The Legislation was introduced by Senator Jonathan Dismang of Beebe, Arkansas.
Senate Bill 253 adds a subsection to Arkansas Code § 14-116-301 which addressed the appointment of the Board of Directors of a water district. The subsection added states:
(c) In a district that primarily provides water for agricultural irrigation, an individual is eligible to be a director if the individual is a property owner in the water district.
Revisions are also made to certain sections.
Senate Bill 253 has been referred to the Senate City, County, and Local Affairs Committee.
