The American Public Power Association (“APPA”) awarded the Conway Corporation (“CC”) a Diamond Level designation in its Reliable Public Power Provider (“RP3”) program.
The Conway Corporation is owned by the City of Conway, Arkansas, and is a utility system that supplies electric, water, wastewater, video, internet, and security services.
APPA describes the RP3 program as recognizing utilities that:
. . . demonstrate high proficiency and reliability, safety, workforce development, and system improvement.
The level of designations include:
- Diamond Level
- Platinum Level
- Gold Level
The RP3 designation is stated to be in place for three years and requires that the public power utility demonstrate proficiency in four disciplines:
- Reliability
- Safety
- Workforce development
- System improvement
APPA describes itself as the voice of not-for-profit, community-owned utilities that power 2,000 towns and cities in the United States.
