The Stat-Medicament-Disposal Corporation (“SMDC”) has been named “Outstanding Green Small Business of the Year” as part of the 9th Annual SCORE Awards which were held on September 14th in Washington, D.C.
SMDC is a Siloam Springs, Arkansas organization.
The SCORE Awards are sponsored by the SCORE Foundation which has been described as the United States largest network of volunteer-expert business mentors serving more than 125,000 clients on an annual basis. They are stated to recognize outstanding examples of successful, innovative SCORE mentees.
SMDC is an environmental service company whose activities include destruction of unused pharmacuticals.
An SMDC news release notes that the organization:
. . . completed contracts for bottle assembly with not one but two Special Needs Organizations, Abilities Unlimited of Magnolia Arkansas and Star Industries of Russellville, Arkansas, and made presentations to community organizations such as Kiwanis-Rotary-Lions in three States and numerous cities collecting thousands of sign up cards to bring the product to their city to protect the drinking water for their children and grandchildren.
