The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) and the City of Liberty, Missouri, (“Liberty”) entered into a July 12th Expedited Settlement Agreement (“ESA”) addressing an alleged Clean Water Act (“CWA”) violation. See CWA-07-2021-0031.
The alleged violations are stated to have occurred at a facility in Liberty, Missouri.
The ESA provides that based on information provided by the Liberty:
. . . Respondent failed to comply with Section 405 of the CWA, 33 U.S.C. § 1345 and/or 40 C.F.R. 503, Standards for the Use or Disposal of Sewage Sludge, which limit the disposal of sewage sludge.
Liberty is stated to neither admit nor deny the alleged violations specified in the ESA.
A civil penalty of $3,700 is assessed.
