Kinderhook Industries (“Kinderhook”) announced in a March 20th news release that it acquired CARDS Recycling, LLC. (“CARDS”).
CARDS is headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas and operates hauling companies, transfer stations, recycling centers, recovery facilities, and landfills throughout the Midwest.
Kinderhook Industries describes itself as a private investment firm managing over $5.4 billion of committed capital. It cites over 400 investments and follow-on acquisitions since its inception.
The focus of Kinderhook is stated to be middle market businesses with defensible niche market positioning in:
- Healthcare services
- Environmental/Business services
- Automotive/Light Manufacturing sectors
CARDS founder, and Chief Executive Officer, Dan Christensen is quoted as stating:
“I founded cards with a simple mission – become the Mid-South solid waste market leader providing best-in-class customer services… we are very excited to team up with Kinderhook as a capital partner with their depth of resources and experience in the environmental services space. The team is committed and excited to continue to grow the business and expand CARDS’ service offering to new markets.”
