The Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality (“MCEQ”) and Contact Network LLC, dba InLine (“InLine”) entered into a March 28th Agreed Order (“AO”) addressing an alleged water and solid waste violation. See Order No. 6743 17.
The AO states that certain violations occurred near MS-43, Picayune, Mississippi. The violations are alleged to include:
- Placement of a drilling fluid, Bore-gel, on the ground of private property where impacts to waters of the state were likely
- Creation of an unauthorized dump by placing a drilling fluid, Bore-gel, on the ground of private property in an effort to constitute disposal
The AO states that InLine has “completed expectations of cleanup endpoints as identified by the State On-Scene coordinator for this response.” The company is also stated to have taken measures to ensure personnel are well trained on proper disposal methods.
The AO assesses a civil penalty of $10,000.
