The Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality (“MCEQ”) and Strong River Construction, LLC (“Strong River”) entered into a January 10th Agreed Order (“AO”) for alleged failure to obtain coverage under the Mississippi Large Construction General Permit for Land Disturbing Activities of Five Acres or More.
Strong River is referenced as operating a construction site in Magee, Mississippi.
The alleged failure to obtain coverage under the referenced General Permit is due to prior commencement of construction activities in alleged violation of Miss. Code Ann. § 49-17-19(2)(b).
Strong River is stated to have submitted a Large Construction Notice of Intent and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality on September 20, 2023.
A civil penalty of $6,000 is assessed.
