The Illinois River Watershed Partnership (“IRWP”) has scheduled a Streambank Restoration Field Tour (“Tour”) for November 14th.
The Tour will be held November 14th in Cave Springs, Arkansas.
IRWP states that the educational focus of the Tour will be major streambank restorations. This is stated to include a focus on:
. . . the intensive restorations needed for banks that are cut, and are in need of more repair than a simple tree planting.
Two expert presentations will include:
- How to permanently protect the investment of a major restoration through land conservation
- What’s needed to restore a severely cut bank
The Tour will include visits to three different streambank restoration sites. The three sites will include:
- A site in final planning phase
- A site in pre-construction
- Two completed restoration projects
Lunch will be provided and there is no cost for the Tour. Further, the course has been submitted for 4.5 LACES credits.
Further information can be obtained from the Tour brochure found here.
