The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“BWA”) has announced that a Streamside Management Workshop (“workshop”) will be held in Elkins, Arkansas on March 4th.
The workshop will include instructors from:
- Watershed Conservation Resource Center
- United States Fish and Wildlife’s Partners for Fish and Wildlife
Topics addressed will range from stream basics to permitting and financial assistance programs. Participants will also be provided instruction on how to establish and increase their riparian buffer through a “hands-on planting demonstration using native tree and shrub seedlings, following the workshop.”
BWA notes that funding and technical assistance is available to help landowners with stream bank concerns.
The workshop is stated to be funded as part of the White River Watershed Opportunity Assessment Project through the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and the United States Environmental Protection Agency Section 319 Clean Water Act Program.
The workshop will be held at the Elkins Community Center which is located at 162 Doolin Drive.
Information about the workshop can be found at www.beaverwatershedalliance.org or by calling the organization at 479-750-8007.
