The Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation (“TDEC”) announced that Jim Holt has been promoted to be Solid Waste Manager of the Memphis Environmental Field Office (“MEFO”).
The MEFO serves Fayette, Shelby, Tipton and Hardeman (Division of Water Resources Only) counties.
Mr. Holt is stated to have spent two years in the Division of Solid Waste Management in the MEFO. He spent the prior 28 years in the Pollution Control section of the Shelby County Health Department (“SCHD”). His final 10 years in the SCHD he served as the Administrative Manager and prior to that as Supervisor of the Minor Air Pollution Sources Branch.
Additional environmental service includes working in the Environmental Engineering Section at Federal Express in Global Environmental Management. Also, he is stated to have served as:
- Environmental Consultant for Brown & Caldwell
- Member/Chairman of the Shelby County Air Board
Mr. Holt holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Memphis.
