The Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (“ASTSWMO”) issued a document titled:
The Economics of Recycling: Reports from States and Others (“Report”)
The Report was prepared by the ASTSWMO Sustainable Materials Management Task Force.
The purpose of the Report is to educate ASTSWMO members and others about the economic benefits of recycling. It addresses this topic by assembling a number of reports on the subject from various states and other sources.. The date of the reports range from 2007 to 2017.
The state reports include:
- Alabama
- Colorado
- Iowa
- Michigan
- North Carolina
- New Jersey
- South Carolina
- Texas
A multi-state report was prepared by the Southeast Recycling Development Council.
The national reports include:
- Environmental Protection Agency
- Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries
- Tellus Institute with Sound Resource Management
Local government reports include:
- Austin, Texas
- King County, Washington
