The American Wind Energy Association (“AWEA”) issued what it describes as a new mapping tool that can be utilized to “view the location of every utility-scale wind project and wind-related manufacturing facility in the United States.”
The AWEA states that the map was released to enable visualization of the growth of what it describes as America’s largest source of renewable energy capacity.
The map has a built-in time-lapse feature that includes markers for what is estimated to be more than 500 wind-related manufacturing facilities in the United States. An estimated 50 or more data points are provided at both the project and turbine level (interactive mapping services, including filtered search capabilities, summary maps and political boundaries).
AWEA describes itself as the national trade association of the United States wind industry representing 1,000 member companies.
