The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) announced its annual ENERGY STAR Awards.
Entergy Arkansas, LLC (“Entergy Arkansas”) was one of the companies named as a “Partner of the Year.”
EPA describes the ENERGY STAR Awards as honoring businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protect the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements and other means.
Various subcategories are included within these awards. Entergy Arkansas’s category is denominated Energy Efficiency Program delivery. This subcategory is described as including entities that sponsor energy efficiency programs to improve the efficiency of products, homes, and buildings within their community or territory.
EPA states that Entergy Arkansas:
. . . has made leveraging ENERGY STAR criteria, third party certification, and branding tools a key component of their strategy to deliver energy efficient solutions to their customers.
An award ceremony was held in Washington, D.C., on April 11th.
Southwestern Electric Power Company which has significant operations in Arkansas received this award last year.
