United States Congressman Bruce Westerman was chosen to be the next ranking member of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources (“Committee”) in the upcoming 117th Congress.
Congressman Westerman is a Republican serving the 4th District of Arkansas.
The Committee’s jurisdiction includes subjects such as energy development, park and public land, water in the territories. Other areas of interest include mining, mineral rights, wildlife, and the oceans.
Subcommittees of the Committee include:
- Energy and Mineral Resources
- National Park, Forests and Public Lands
- Waters, Oceans and Wildlife
- Indigenous Peoples of the United States
- Oversight and Investigations
Congressman Westerman is a Hot Springs native and will be serving his fourth term as a Representative from the 4th District of Arkansas. He is an engineer and forester by trade and worked for 22 years at Mid-South Engineering in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Congressman Westerman received a Bachelor of Science in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from the University of Arkansas and a Masters of Forestry Degree from Yale University.
