Ms. Sandi Formica will undertake a Zoom webinar on December 2nd from 12:00-1:00 p.m. for the Beaver Watershed Alliance titled:
Utilizing NRCS Programs to Restore Streams, Riparian, and Wetlands in the West Fork White River Watershed (“Presentation”)
Ms. Formica serves as Executive Director of the Watershed Conservation Resource Center.
The Presentation is part of Beaver Watershed Alliance’s 2020 Speaker Series:
Investing in Water Supply Protection in NWA
The Beaver Watershed Alliance states that the Water Conservation Resource Center worked with 14 partners and was awarded $8.7 million in 2016 through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resource Conservation Services Regional Conservation Partnership Program. This is stated to have been used to restore reaches of river and streambanks in the West Fork White River (“WFWR”) watershed. A Watershed Plan was stated to have been developed as part of this activity to address accelerated streambank erosion.
Ms. Formica’s Presentation will describe the project that created a WFWR PL-566 watershed. This will include two large river restoration projects that are underway and several streambank restoration projects through the Natural Resource Conservation Services Environmental Quality Incentive Program.
Information regarding the Presentation, including registration, can be downloaded here.
