The Arkansas Water Resources Center Announced that an August 21st webinar will be held titled:
War Eagle Barrier Removals, Restoration, and Mussel Ecology in Arkansas (“Webinar”).
The Webinar is stated to be hosted by the Beaver Watershed Alliance.
Scheduled speakers at the Webinar include:
- Kendall Moles, PhD, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Malacologist
- Sean Saunders, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Stream Habitat Coordinator
The Webinar flyer states that War Eagle Creek is the largest tributary to Beaver Lake. It also notes:
…a collaborative partnership between Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (“AGFC”), Beaver Watershed Alliance, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Landowners, Non-profits, state and local governments, and others are working together to improve War Eagle Creek and its tributaries.
Dr. Moles will discuss the ecology of mussels and the work done at the War Eagle restoration sites to collect over 2,000 mussels. Mr. Saunders will address the restoration details of the ongoing projects to improve War Eagle Creek and its tributaries, including the benefits of barrier removals and stream restoration.
Scheduled time for the Webinar is 12:00-1:00 P.M. Central on August 21st.
