The national organization WateReuse (“WateReuse) issued a July 30th news release stating that 43 water utilities from around the United States have received the Utility of the Future Today award (“Award”).
WateReuse states the Award recognizes:
. . . the achievements of water utilities that transform from the traditional wastewater treatment system to a resource recovery center and leader in overall sustainability and resilience of the communities they serve.
One of the recipients was the City of Fayetteville Water Resource Recovery Facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Fayetteville facility is also stated as being recognized for a fourth year and in a new area of performance.
The award was launched in 2016 by the:
- National Association of Clean Water Agencies
- Water Environment Federation
- The Water Research Foundation
- WateReuse
The news release states the honorees will be recognized during an award ceremony at WEFTEC 2019, which is that organization’s 92nd annual technical exhibition and conference in Chicago, Illinois.
